To step back is to vanish
Dissolve into second skin
No words are required
Only a quiet pulse, gentle as breath
I don’t always know if I’m made for this
This circus of bone & sugar
But I trudge through the dirt
Ankle-deep in flowerbeds
And the blessed mess of devotion
My life is a cathedral of vines
And at its heart, she floats
The woman I love
A constellation in a gown of light
Offering me a kiss wrapped in divinity
