Blessed are the burned out, those racing through each hectic day, barely holding on, struggling to make rent, and find moments of rest.

Blessed are the doomscrollers, glued to their screens and unable to look away, horrified by the headlines and unable to stop the racing thoughts.

Blessed are those who can no longer pray, who have given up on God, wondering how an all-loving deity could allow such suffering.

Blessed are the elders, whose wisdom is so often ignored in our modern world, yet who speak quietly and powerfully during times of crisis.

Blessed are the activists who refuse to give up on hope, no matter how often they feel disillusioned and defeated.

Blessed are the caregivers who sacrifice so much time and energy, modeling the purest forms of selfless love and compassion.

Blessed are the lonely, yearning for connection, hopefully one day finding the community they crave.

Blessed are you, weary soul, dealing with your own internal and relational struggles while trying to make sense of today’s frightening world.

And blessed are we all, fragile and fierce, foolish and flawed, breakable and brave, fumbling forward in the dark with trembling hands.

Nick, this one hits me deep. That final line—“fumbling forward in the dark with trembling hands”—feels like a gentle benediction for all of us just trying to get through.

    Much love,
    David

Thanks, David! Yes, feels like we’re all carrying a heavy load right now in one way or another.
