I ran hard, breathless, chasing peace
I scoured every shadow for truth
Dove into the wreckage of memory
Scraped at the past, hoping it would yield light

Then, I veered into the future
Navigating the roads of what-if
Each step more anxious than the last
Lost deep in the thickets of uncertainty

Finally, I stood still
Let silence do what searching never could

In that stillness
With no past to unearth
And no future to fear
I saw clearly

The peace I hunted
Had been waiting quietly
In the place I first began
