All the ordinary people speaking ordinary words,
Yet light pours through their faces, a quiet glow
Divine whispers spilled from their lips like rivers of grace
Each movement is a sacred dance, the flutter of unseen wings

I think of Merton, standing on that street in Louisville,
His heart opened wide, seeing all as beloved,
Every soul shimmering with unspoken holiness,
A moment suspended in the eternal now

But it slips away, as fleeting as the wind
Swallowed by anger, the rise of old frustrations
Yet always, like the tide, it returns
A gentle reminder of the web that binds us,
An endless thread of God’s love,
Unbroken, infinite, and deep as the stars
