Beneath the moon’s icy glow
A phantom stirs where shadows grow
It treads the halls in spectral white
A silent watcher of the night
Its hollow eyes, a mournful plea
For peace it seeks eternally
Each Christmas Eve, it fades away
Yet leaves a tear where it did stay
So light your hearth and hold love near
Or you may be the ghost next year
